Summary

Study the Sinai kaolin deposits' geologic occurrences and settings, mining reserves, and geologic resources in and around Abu Zenima city, in the Red Sea governorate (Egypt). This expedition took us 5 days of fieldwork searching and studying the kaolin deposits' greenlands, quarries in working, and out-of-date non-working quarries. The kaolin deposits' representative samples from all the aforementioned localities (19 localities) were picked up and labeled, and then the XRF analysis was done for these representative samples. Finally, the final research and study report was drafted and written.

Highlights

Visited the active-licensed concessions of kaolin deposits' quarries.

Visited the non-active kaolin deposits' quarries.

Studied and searched for the Greenland (not exploited) concessions and localities of kaolin deposits.

Reviewed and summarized all the previous and available publications, reports, research works, and data on the South Sinai kaolin deposits at the office.

Executed and supervised all the preparation procedures of the 19 representative samples collected in this work expedition and fieldwork at the Central Laboratories Sector (CLS) of the Egyptian Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority (MRMIA). Additionally, interpreted the geochemical analysis results with the field data collected during the field trip.

Helped in the GIS and mapping works at the office.

Drafted and wrote the final research and study report.
